Can someone tell me any info on this sword? My grandpa found it and its really heavy and solid but I know nothing about it. Thanks

Does it have an edge? It looks a bit like a toy, both in size and in construction.

Have no clue but that's something cool to find. Toy or not.
(I will agree, once BC mentioned toy, that is what it looks like.)

Looks like a short sword. Roman empire used them a lot, yours is not from that time period though. Tool marks on the brass are from a more modern grinder.

Actually this looks more like a French Infantry Short Sword...

What is lucky about finding a relic in a country where all relics belong to the government? Sounds like a Christmas where you get everything you dreamed of but it belongs to a total stranger so you never get to use it again.
