It's about time.. Marines likley to get M4's

Interesting. The Army did a lot of terminal ballistics testing recently and found that the 55grn. non-boat tail round out of a long barrel was far more damaging to the human body than green tips out of the M-4 barrel. (I.e. fast and tumble is more damaging to the human body than heavy and flat in flight because it dumps all of it's energy into the target through tumbling; creating a lager cavitation wound and shredding the bullet mostly inside the target) I wonder if this is a case of the two services switching doctrines with reguard to the 5.56 round in the future.

I don't know. We'll have to see what they do with it. You can bet that they've looked at this in depth.
