A little Thompson overview. I first became interested in Thompsons after reading The Gun That Made the 20's Roar as a kid.

Back then parts sets were $350 and Evan and I (collectively firearms enthusiasts) couldn't afford one. The dream Thompson exists. It just took 17 years to make that happen. The parts, though 70 years old, feel brand new.

The Thompson doesn't really disappoint, beyond the history and cold hard data, it just feels right- the gun makes authoritative noises when parts are handled and actuated, has a characteristic sound when fired, runs smooth like a Cadillac - it's just an example of a firearm that embodies turn of the century quality and iconic firearms. As opposed to something like a Tavor where my personal takeaway was, why did they do that?
