So the plan was to have 2 Intermediate 16" guns this year.

I'm waiting on the M-LOK URX4 from KAC, but I'll have a SR-15 Mod2 complete within the next month or two ( already bought my SR-30 lower since everything else is banned by name in Commiefornia ).

The other build I was planning was going to use the upcoming WEVO Battle Cat receiver.

I was initially hoping for a matching set, but it looks like It's going to be the lower only. I've actually already have an existing upper, but was thinking of changing it around some.

Current Upper:
VLTOR MUR-1A
SMOS Arms SM-13
Strongside Tactical Stretch 16" Intermediate Barrel ( 416R, .223 Wylde 1/8 )
Fathom Arms E-BCG
Rainier marked AXTS Raptor
Magpul Pro BUIS
Precision Armament M4-72 Brake

Potential Changes:
Rainier Arms UltraMatch Mod 2 Upper
Mega Arms 14" Wedgelock

What does WEVO think? I'm likely going to go with a US Optics 1.5-6x or 1.5-8x Variable for the optic. I really want one of the Wedgelock rails though.

Is "intermediate" the new "midlegth" or are we talking a barrel profile??

Yeah, you could say it's the "new" mid-length. It's a gas system, not a barrel profile.

However, it's been around for a bit already.

Knight's Armament uses this gas system for their SR15 Mod 1 and Mod 2 Rifles/Uppers ( Both 14.5 and 16 )

Noveske uses this length for their SPR 18" barrels.

I believe that the Noveske and KAC lengths slightly differ though ( someone confirm ).

The Mid-length gas system is 9.8" while the Intermediate is about 11.8". The idea is that if a middie with the right port size works great on a 14.5 and a rifle gas works great on a 18", the intermediate should also work great on a 16".

Sorry, I am familiar with midlength gas system. I mean the term "intermediate", what was wrong with "midlength"?
Just wanted to make sure I was correct in my assumption.

I have had a 14.5 BCM middy and now have a 16" Troy middy.

I really liked the 14.5.

The Mid-Length and Intermediate are 2 different gas systems.

Mid-Length gas system = 9.8 Inches
Intermediate gas system = 11.8 Inches
Rifle gas System = 13.2 Inches
