Hot off the Dillon Press. RCBS 308 Small Base Die Set, Lee Factory Crimp Die. Hornady 168 Grain BTHP Match bullets, 45.2 Grains of BLC-2 - standard large rifle primers - full case prep. This load attempts to duplicate the Federal 168 Grain Gold Medal Match ammunition's velocity. Will chrono and bench it at the fall shoot to see how it does.

Very nice. You shooting a bolt gun or a semi with that?

Sig 716 semi. Long ago in a Galaxy far far away ... I had a couple of Springfield M1A rifles. Let a shooting buddy talk me out of both. Saved all the components and just getting back into the 308 game. Cases cleaned up pretty well. After the last pass through the tumbler, I always wear cotton gloves to reload. I don't get as much range time as I like, so I make sure all the reloads are set for long term storage - just in case. I bag the reloads in Zip-Lok freezer bags and mark them with load data and date.

Curious to see what it crono's out of that. The Gold Match with the 168 Sierra's was a good bit slower that they state. I was seeing just over 2550 out of 20" barrel'ed semi. Almost 100 fps slower than they rated it at. Very accurate for factory ammo though. Pulled off a few 1/2" 5 shot groups at 100 yards off a bench.

You're right - the 16" barrel will be very interesting. Will also chrono it with an AAC 762-SD can when it gets out of jail.
