Stay safe brother. Was just reading they thought the flooding there was as bad as what he had here during Floyd... If so that's terrible.

Property damage all over Columbia is probably in the billions. My neighborhood didn't even lose power; the carnage happened all around us....my pond didn't even raise to flood levels. All around us....destruction.

I won't be taking the train to work:

Never ceases to amaze me how much damage water can do ... to just about anything. Stay safe, and keep the powder dry!

Crazy stuff. We had severe flooding this past May (Houston). Looks like you guys are one-upping us. Praying for relief for you all. God bless.

Water is the universal solvent. The grand canyon is a good example.

Okay, picture update. I am still amazed by the sheer selflessness I have witnessed over the past few days and all those people from all walks of life are lending a hand, I am still very proud of the young folks using their canceled school days to help those in need.

Anyhow, one neighborhood I went through was a mad house. All the volunteers turned this usually busy street into a parking lot while they helped. Ruined furniture, carpet, appliances, etc was piled in front of residences so the County Solid Waste (who are busting it hard to keep the county clean) can come get it.

Water line can be seen on the pegboard in this garage at about 6.5 feet up.

More help for fellow man: free water points established every couple blocks because if anyone has running taps, it is unsafe to drink due to sewage contamination, volunteers are taking people's clothes and washing them with bleach or colorsafe bleach them due to contact with raw sewage

I was out documenting road blockages in my assigned area so I could figure out who and how I'd access those isolated by closures. I was out on foot beyond the "road closed" barricades taking this picture and seeing if the barriers were allowing enough buffer and a super genius drove around the barricades onto the soft eroding shoulder and passed this in the left lane. More chunks of asphalt fell after he drove by. I didn't take a picture because I was un-assing the road in case it failed entirely.
