So I got an email from rainier as I'm sure most of you did. Noticed the Kaiser USP X-7 assembly upper tool. Of course this is pretty much needed from what I've read but could this tool be used on standard AR recievers? Is this the poor mans reaction rod? Very curious to pick one up and try.

Material on the Rainier Arms product page says 6061 aluminum. Eeep! I hope that's a mistake.

The Geissele Reaction Rod is steel, just like the barrel extension it engages. If you use the Kaiser tool and put some serious torque on a barrel nut or muzzle device, 6061 is not going to hold up.

The Bev Block is a good buy aswell. Can't go wrong with Magpul

This is why I rate the BEV block slightly ahead of the Geissele Reaction Rod. Just flip it upside down ala Dstrbdmedic, and you can work on your lower receiver.

Short Answer is No. I talked to Kaiser about this and they advised that their rod is a 1 time use piece. If you are looking for a long lasting reaction rod, go with steel.

I'll sell you my bev. It doesn't get much use since we got the reaction rod
