On hold with NICS

Well, my FFL thinks he has a record for hold time on an extended check with NICS. After taking a look at the goodies, checking 11 boxes, calling NICS, I got to get in the extended check line. We were on hold for 55 minutes until we got a friendly operator. Really, she was quite nice. After he got the go ahead, we asked what the queue was. 115 folks behind us. I'm glad I was at this gentleman's house in a comfy chair.

I guess that's one of the benefits to having a CHL here in Texas. They consider your background check as done (which it is) when you have a valid CHL. No need to call or wait.

I may take a class in January. Even though we don't need a license up here, I do get an NICS exempt card, and a better education.

That's nothing compared to Black Friday mornings. You'll be on hold for 2-3 hours.
