I've got a few IM about seeing the rail from the top without the Eotech, as well as questions about the height and width.

Eric Rice from Daniel Defense has listed the rail width as 2.424". He has a picture that shows the height and width of the various DD rails. I'll see if we can get him to post it over here.

Very nice! Those have got to be the thinnest profile HG’s on the market. It appears that the delta ring actually protrudes farther than the side rails them selves!

It is, and they do.

What's the internal diameter on the Omega as compared to the M4 & the Lite?

Noticed these the other day on Rainier's site. Look awesome. Any plans on a 9" or 12" version for mids and rifle lengths? Price is good too.

Omega Rail ID = 1.08"

Lite Rail ID = 1.22"

M4Rail ID = 1.45"

With the smaller intenal 1.08 diamater is heat an issue ? Or are these not meant to be used with heavy barrels ?

If you are talking about a standard heavy barrel like the ones found on the Colt 6721, I wouldn't worry about it. If you mean bull barrels, that might be a different story.

I really hope they do a 9", 10", or 12" version!

I read that the Omega is coming with rail covers, are they full or ladder?

I'm not sure as the prototype version I had didn't come in its production packaging. I'm also not 100% sure that they are coming with covers, so hopefully the DD crew can give a solid answer on this.

Just go pre-order from John at Rainier Arms (https://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=854). I heard through the grapevine that he should have them very soon. ;)

I would imagine that a nice fitment of this rail is heavily dependant on a perfect alignment of the barrel nut and gas tube?

No, that has nothing to do with it, though obviously a well aligned gas tube is still important for other aspects of the weapon.

I thought this caught in the teeth of the barrel nut and those two allen screws did as well?

I had a 9mm upper that had the barrel nut grossly misaligned (because it doesn't have to be) and good M4 handguards with the antirotational nubs would sit crooked.

I'm just imagining this would work the same way?

My barrel nut is just about perfect on the BCM 11.5" anyway. I guess I should have no worries.

What's your price on these now? $200? ;)
