Any of you guys use Yelp before you use a particular business or restaurant?

Occasionally if I am out of town, but my town is too small to really have an app like that be useful.

I've never yelped anything.

It would only be useful in a bigger town but even then it generally won't be my thing.

I don't even look up restaurant reviews before going to a restaurant. My wife and I just stop in at one that looks like it should be good when we decide to stop at one for something to eat if we happen to be in Idaho Falls.

My wife and I use it all the time, especially when we are travelling.

I use Yelp all the time when I'm out of town. Primarily to find restaurants and hotels. We are Paleo so being able to find food is nice.

Restaurants...only if I'm looking for something new. Depending on the business/service, I'll google them prior to going there - yelp will sometimes show reviews. Unless there are multiple reviews with the same opinions...I generally take what people say with a grain of salt. Never know what reviews are posted by people working for that business(or friends), or somebody that is unreasonably upset with a person working there (ie ex-girlfriend of a manager, etc).

I read Yelp a lot since I live on the road but I don't have an account with which to post reviews. I do however appreciate the people that do.
