Aero Precision has a monthly contest where they give away a rifle to a luck winner. I was the lucky guy for the month of September. My Prize? The rifle below. An Aero Precision M5E1 in Burn Bronze. This rifle came with an 18” barrel 1-10 twist. VG6 Precision muzzle brake, B5 grip and stock.

I never ran any B5 furniture before. I’m impressed. I like. The only thing I would change is if the stock had a “locking” device like magpul stocks. The grip is nice. I like the angle. I ended up putting a Leopold MK4 3.5-10 scope on top temporarily. It’s a good scope but I want something longer. It loses something at ranges beyond 100 for my 40 yr. old laser corrected eyes.
The first mods I did pretty much the instant I got home was add a Gunfighter charging handle, STS 60 degree safety. I also dropped in a SSA-E

So far I like the rifle. I have put 60 rounds threw it so far. Looking forward to spending more time behind it. The best group I shot with 168g Fiocchi ammo was 1.7” group according to on target. I need to get my grubby little hands on some Gold Medal Match, some CorBon and some Guerilla ammo to try out. Maybe some black hills as well.

I like it. Thank you again Aero Precision.

Congrats and thanks for taking the time to take pictures and post. What's the rifle weigh? I'm looking forward to hearing more about it as you get it broken in and figure out what ammo it prefers.

I'm not sure. I haven't put her away yet. I'll weight her after I get the kids to bed.

Very nice. I keep hoping to win one of their monthly giveaways. Nothing so far. Also I don't check my email that much so maybe I should start haha

Very nice rifle! I'm jealous. I hope to have a .308 build up and going sooner then later

I need to get back into it. I sold most of my equipment when I moved from LA to San Diego. I still have some brass and projectiles around here.

She seems to like the 175g gold medal match. Time to get back into reloading and duplicate that round. When I did my part she stayed under an inch. I shot 60 rounds yesterday and I sucked. The rifle didn't. I was having a hard time getting the scope to settle down. I could feel my pulse threw the rifle and see the mildot Jump. The couple groups I could get settled the rifle shot really well. I took 168s and 175s. The 175s seemed a little tighter. She ran like a champ. No issues and ejected brass like a girl turning guys down at last call.

Finally got her dialed in. She liked the 175 gr Gold Medal Match a lot. I am running a Vortex HS-T 4-16 on it now. That scope is awesome.

Five shot group at 100 yards? If so, that is impressive performance from both the shooter and the Ballistic Advantage CMV melonite barrel, especially considering it's price point.

Naw that's 4. I stopped cause I saw that group forming and my hand started shaking with excitement. I knew I would flub the next shot. I shot 10 groups and the average was .75 for 9. I threw the one above out since it wasn't 5. That was the best of the day. The largest group was just under 1" and the losest 5 shot was just over .5.

Its an impressive gun. I like it a lot. The price point of free (for me :) ) cant be beat.
