2015 Christmas haul....what'd ya get?

It's Christmas Eve and some families do their gift exchanges early. So, did you get what you asked for or
were you pleasantly surprised?

I'll start off with 3 really good surprises. First up is a new watch from my wife's son and his partner, a very nice
DIESEL watch.

From the wife, a Vortex Strikefire RD and a vest. I was surprised she got the Vortex but I was floored when I opened
the box for the vest. I did not see that coming.

I got some shirts from a local range and some cash which will inevitably be spent within 24 hrs on gun parts.

The highlight of this Christmas by far was my gift to my sister. It was a Starbucks gift card that took her over 25 minutes to open. A total of 8 boxes inside one another, including empty boxes of Dream Whip, vanilla pudding, and Remington buckshot. I put those 3 boxes inside one another and put all of them inside a padded envelope and taped it up with 180 feet of painters tape. I told her she had to pick ONE of the items in the picture and if she used more than one or got help from anyone or gave up halfway through, then I got to keep her gift. Surprisingly she made it through and I'm sure she's already plotting her revenge for next year. That's fine with me cause so am I lol. I'm shooting for 1 mile of tape next year.

Negative. I honestly doubt I'd buy one for myself though, now that AXTS still has them so I've been able to actually seriously consider it. Not much sense for me since I haven't gone for a full on Umbrella build.

I got nothing that was on my list. Of course, I did not reveal my list to another living soul. I need to get a new amp, its been a while. I'm a huge vacuum tube addict, so I'm thinking a Road King to go wiht my Mark IV combo and Stiletto and Mark V heads. Crank up the Variac and dim the neighborhood! :)

I can't complain about the month of December, of course if somebody wants to send me a better scope mount... :D I'm all about the buy once, cry once, but I'm not gonna spend $200+ on a mount before this one makes me notice that it sucks.

We also tend to have people who don't have anywhere to go over for holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving etc) so I taught my sister and another guest to shoot. Between me, my dad, sister, and our guests we went through about 250 rounds of .380 and about 500 rounds of 9mm.

That was of course after eating a Christmas meal of deep fried turkey... (I love cooking) :)

Sounds like a good time! I've gotten to the point where I almost enjoy teaching people how to shoot and taking people hunting for their first time more than I enjoy actually shooting/hunting myself.

Yes! It's so much fun. Around my home on holidays at least half the people aren't even actually related to me! LOL (But that makes no difference because they are considered family anyway).

My sister has been wanting to carry for a long time and even has a permit but she just never took the time to get a gun... so we gave her no choice :) I think she really likes her little Glock. That's the first Glock I have ever bought (I know I am a heretic)... She was getting pretty decent by the end of the day and knew the basics of range etiquette and basic safety stuff. I was basically being a range officer and would remind her about how to not lose fingers and to not muzzle sweep people LOL! She really was getting decent hits on steel though.

As for the pics... I put together the upper and did a mock up to check the suppressor/rail clearance... I moved the AFG back a notch because that screw was riding on the gas block but other than that....

Right after she got it they went to the range and she shot 50 rounds, then 3 days later they took their CCL course and she was the best female shooter and my dad was the best male with a perfect score. Rather than celebrate finishing top of the class, my mom instead complained that she should've scored higher lol. I've shot that Glock a few times and it's a little small for my liking but it's a fun gun to shoot. Definitely well-suited as a woman's CCW.

Nice! I have to take apart a bunch of my ARs to get things to fit. I just reorganized my safe to make more efficient use of space, but now it's a pain in the ass to access most things.

Well then, built up a new CMT lower with a Geiselle G2S and Forward Controls controls, panic buy of a left handed BCG, and 1600 projectiles of varying calibers and weights with the appropriate propulsion behind them.

Now I'm waiting for the new stuff from SHOT to budget the rest of the year.
