i dont know much about AKs in general, but i do love me some billet machined stuff. looks pretty cool. i'd like to know from people more familiar with ARs what they think

I saw that as well. Definitely interesting. I'm hoping there's some more details at SHOT.

I haven't built an AK before. I thought about it a few times, but never pulled the trigger. This might be enough to tip the scales.

It's definitely not as plug and play as an AR that's for sure. And the tools will run you a few hundred dollars alone.

That statement is very true to build a quality stamped/riveted AK - not as much with a milled receiver, esp if one buys a populated barrel. On that note though, there would be even less specialized tools / experience needed if Sharps Bros can figure out a nice triggerguard to go with this, negating that single bit of riveting work.
