Excuse my ignorance, but is there any part of SHOT open to the public? Whether it be full access for a limited time, or restricted access for the whole time? I follow SEMA very closely every year and it's my understanding they give the general public access for at least part of the show. Just wondering if SHOT is similar.

The only thing that's piqued my interest is the Savage Stealth rifle. I can only hope they've got a lefty version. I looked at Drake Associates site, and they seem to be pretty lefty friendly, so there's a chance. It may give the RPR a run for it's money.

I know you aren't asking me, but as a guy who is building a $3k Glock, I can speak from a place of experience when I say that people want what they want. Reason aside. Though, I could see some use in the product as a two shot burst with a little trigger control training.

But was curious what info they were giving and what peoples impressions were. I want the .308 version... and they are offering a Mil/LEO/First Responder discount for when I get one later.

And the trigger would be cool for a few mags, and then expensive after that. now... if someone could do a 3 shot burst version without having to remember to remove you finger before you burned off the whole mag, I'd be interested.

Kalashnikov USA is sketch. Unless they've changed their sources, there was a lot of distrust of their product when they first popped up. Plus people weren't happy with their naming.

Atlantic Firearms is importing a 9mm AK that I'd probably look at first, as the parts are actually from FSB sources, as I understand it.

They're are not part of Kalashnikov Concern and have even been sued (or at least challenged) by the Concern. I'm going off of memory here, so take it for what it's worth, but I believe there's also been some question about their parts sourcing (ie, not Russian or even FSB). Is that a bad thing? Time will tell, as Pyzyik mentioned (pedigree), but they are not associated with the conventional Saiga/Concern apparatus.

It really has nothing to do with Izmash or Concern other than the name.

It's just an American company who was smart about the naming of their plant.

I really don't understand $1,200 AKs. Seems contrary to the whole point of thing. I'm more interested in what PSA is doing with their Gen 2 PSAK.
