What's in A (User) Name?

Not sure that I've seen it done before, but we're a small enough community that this might prove both entertaining and a bit enlightening: when you get a spare moment, write a line or two about your Weapon Evolution user name, and what it might tell us about you.

In my case, Army Chief isn't a grandiose self-proclamation or anything like that ... I just happen to be (a) in the Army, and (b) a Chief Warrant Officer.

CATM? No such thing! Ha, ha, we could debate that one to death, eh? If you’re referring to the rocket scientists who decided to take their hummer into the WRM lot for a quick nap, they were 15’d, reduced and discharged. For the membership, I was at Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a year. We had one of the largest open air conventional storage sites in the world. One of the patrols, a two-person mobile patrol with mounted M-60 (yes, we were still using 60’s in 1997) decided they were tired and needed a nap (they even brought blankies with them). The brainiacs pulled their 60 from the mount and backed their hummer into a slot within the War Readiness materials motor pool lot where there were hundreds of hummers parked. Wasn’t too hard to find them though since they left the pintle mount on top of the vehicle – stuck out like a sore thumb. Hopefully that’s what you were referring too, if not, a free war story!

Well… it’s kind of a long explanation, but… “Triple Bravo” is phonetic for “Triple B”. As a police officer, my well known nickname is “Triple B” but few know why.

The truth is that a close knit plain clothes unit I worked with for years thought that I closely resembled the Bob’s Big Boy restaurant icon. They boiled Bob’s Big Boy down to BBB or Triple B. The B to the third power became a short hand way to write my nickname while taking notes during surveillances.

When it came time to pick a trade name for my new business, Triple Bravo was the obvious choice.

Name I came up with on another forum and it has stuck. Plus I have to have a back-up for all my weapons. Just in case the primary goes down.
2 1911's,2 870's,2 sniper rifles,2 hunting rifles,2 AR's and etc. Kind of anal about it. Before the wife got sick I had two of alot of different weapons.

My user name is two fold. My last name is often mistaken for Santa's last name but is pronounced different (Klaus, which rhymes with house). In addition, it of course, became my nickname and callsign in the Navy. I was an OS (Operations Specialist) and became an ASAC (Anti-submarine Air Controller) and the instructors gave me the callsign of "Santa". Also, during the holidays, I always have someone see my last name and ask me if I am related to Santa Claus.

Back in the 80s I had a really great job as a DoD SME for an ARMY unit. I used to stand formation with the guys I was attached to. One day the Team Sergeant bothered to look at my boots which were covered with Massachusetts and yelled "Muddyboots!" It stuck. Hard. Everyone started calling me that. They even gave me name tapes that said MUDDYBOOTS on them.

I use it on all forums.

One of my first "real" summer jobs at age 15 was on a construction crew building a house in the FL Keys. The slab, columns, and tie beams were all already poured, and all the studs, beams, plywood, joists, rafters, etc. arrived in 3 containers. My job was to unload the containers onto the slab. I spent a couple days humping wood, and once the crew arrived and started on the 2nd story subfloor I humped more. "woodpuppy, go fetch me 2 x 6's and keep bringing 'em til I tell you to bring fetch the hurricane clips." Then I was known as clipdawg..... Those suckers were sharp, I still have scars on my fingers over 20 years later.
