Get your mind out of the gutter! [:D]

These MTM crates make a pretty nice storage solution for bulk ammo. I have one for .40 S&W and one for 9mm & 300 BLK. Completely filled, the 7.62 crate holds about 4k rounds of assorted ammo in boxes. I tried 100 round containers, but it works out roughly the same. I need to get some silica gel packs to add in, but just when I'd normally stumble across some, I can't find any in the house of the shop. Where would be a decent place to source some of these?

Nice stash you got going.

Regarding silica packets (I've been behind the curve on this) but I've heard people say here (http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Asilica%20packets) is a good place. This is most likely where I'll be getting mine. Plus I have Prime, so it's a bonus.

http://silicagelpackets.com/ CC- DMJ10 for 15% off. I have made at least a dozen orders with them. The 28 gram Tyvex are what I use in my ammo cans, rifle case,etc.etc. Order extra, you will find alot of places to use them. Plus the more you order the cheaper they are. I beleive they have a free shipping option as well.

Thanks for the advice fellas. I also got the crates from Amazon for $20 each. With Prime, its a hard deal to beat. These are perfect for combining rifle and pistol ammo boxes fill the voids nicely.

With 4K of 308, does the crate design allow you to pick it up without damage to the crate? I have used other storage "bins" and they want to crack or break when you try to lift them when full.

Beautiful. I don't shoot .22 much now so I haven't bought .22lr since '08 when I bought 20,000 rounds at about $13 per box of 525.

DUDE. I sooo need to get more ammo. One can never have enough ammo. /SIGH

I need to invest in a really good stockpile and a high speed reloading set up...Have a few 5 gallon buckets with the lids full of 9mm and .45... that would be good.

The want is strong but the money is thin....

Shouldn't be a problem. I believe the handles and bracing is designed for that kind of load. But, for $20... hell, give one a spin.

Lol..I'll admit the title of the thread thru me for a loop....

I have picked up and looked at those MTM crates but yet to buy any, I just use regular old steel Ammo cans for Ammo
