am i seeing things or are there different dd lite rails out there?

i am refering to the hole cut out pattern, it seems some have holes cut out on the bottom of the rail and others do not.

is there a reason for this?

The originals had holes along the bottom of the rails, the new ones do not.

Daniel Defense stated that they made this change to bring the look of the Lite rail inline with the DD M4 rail series. People have commented that it also makes machine time shorter, which would be a nice bonus for them as well.

The DD Omega rails, and the DD military RIS II series rails follow in the same look, and are without the lower holes as well.

For people who can't visualize the lower series of holes, the below images should show the differences.
