The following was taught to me by a Rhodesian Selous Scout. I have yet to bother to try it but I'm about to!
Step One:
Find some wild onions.
Pull them from the ground and wash them off as best you can.
Put them in ANY kind of fire-safe pan or pot.
Cook them until they reduce and there is plenty of oily vegitable residue in the pan or pot.
Skim off the oil.
Step Two:
BAM! That's gun lube!
