Made it again this year (so far I've only missed one). Took a few shots, not many. Got there late and there was a pretty low turn out (around 150).

A few stood out to me though.

Nothing says "I'm out here to stand for my gun rights" like making sure everyone knows that you're gun is empty.

Rick Ector, cool dude. Huge self defense and firearms advocate here in Detroit. Puts on a BUNCH of classes and seminars on his own time for free to the public.

A perfect contrasting example, how to and how to NOT show up for one of these events.

Couple guys from the Michigan Home Guard. Had some pretty simple set ARs (the good kind of simple).

Ugggghhhhhhh the guys in BDUs just crushes my soul. And that beret...no one likes wearing them. Bet the never served a day in their lives, either.

What's the Michigan Home Guard?

The BDU's drive me NUTS! There were probably 50-60 guys wearing them. Woodland and Multicam were the fashion patterns of choice.

The Michigan Home Guard is sort of like a Militia but no BDUs and they are a little more disaster oriented and do work with local law enforcement for certain things.

These kinds of outings would be fun if not for the cammo crowd. You want to go for the cringes, but not be observed standing too close! [:D]

I remember when I stopped wearing BDU's because I realized they made me look like a douchnozzle. Age 17.

I wear my old DCU's I cut off into shorts.....at the beach.

And my old Gortex jacket and bottoms (very nice/well made) when I ever go skiing or something snow-related because it's not worth buying real snow gear because we get it so infrequently here.

Other than that...no.

I used to wear some hunting before I could afford nice camo, but it feels weird knowing I didn't serve
