I don't know where Pyzik is coming from and its actually cheaper to fly...

672 miles each way = 3x pit stops to fill up = at least $100 each direction (on the low end) for fuel. Tolls each way are about 50-80 (I have to drive through three states) and then there is food.

Ohh its about 11 hours each way...

Yes it's open to all media pass lets you cover the event video and take pictures and interviews

Yes it is.

It was advertised to manufacturers/vendors as an opportunity to not only showcase their wares, but to sell product if they wished to do so.
