Looking at picking up a Surefire X300U, primarily for a Glock but I also like the idea of being able to use it on a carbine. Should I go with the "A" model (Rail-lock mounting system) or the "B" model (T-Slot mounting rail)? My understanding is that either will work, but the Rail Lock requires an Allen wrench. Any other considerations or recommendations?

Go with the A- rail lock, its a quick detach lever for easy on/off. The B model you need to use a screw driver. I have four of the rail-locks on all of my rifles and I have beat the snot out of them, still lock down tight and are holding up well. Its real easy to go from carbine to handgun with the rail lock.

A For sure.
I've got a B on my X300V, it's going to live on whatever I put it on. The screw is fine as long as you don't plan to move it.
Or just get 2 [:)]
