"The idea was viewed as radical by many when National Rifle Association head Wayne LaPierre advanced it after the Sandy Hook shooting, but it has continued to gain momentum, especially after it came out of President Trump’s mouth on the campaign trail."

Very much needed legislation. The social experiment of gun free zones has been a costly one.

I agree, however, the Pelosi's, Schumer's, etc. are going to make it a hard sell to get legislation to overturn it. They will get all of he free "public service" air time to paint mental pictures of teachers walking around dressed like a Delta Force Operator, intermingling with their children. Hell, congress can't get it right to offer a kid a cheese burger or a wilted piece of kelp and tofu for lunch, much less pass some common sense legislation.

Although the whole concept of "gun free" zones is a moronic idea, and a complete hoax played on the public (particular schools) these types of BS make people feel like government is doing something to protect children. It's hard to argue why you don't want "to save the children"

The rhetoric is strong. No doubt. But reason pokes through sometimes, even their own.
