Anyone else shooting black powder in their revolvers?

I shoot an 1858 Remington (clone) and a 1976 Ruger Old Army with both black powder and substitute. While I would just use black powder, I found a good deal on Alliance BP substitute which was half the BP price.

Hazmat is killing true black powders. I use either Hodgdon Triple 7 or Pyrodex granular in my Pedersoli's and Thompson's. Almost equal performance and much less corrosive. Much less smoke also. Big advantage when hunting with percussion cap weapons.

Great shots as always.

Stick,

Your pic's take me back many years starting in the mid to late 70's. I had a couple of rifles and pistols. Shot both BP and Pyrodex. It was a blast, but a pain in the ass at the same time. Especially the pistols. And who couldn't love that smell of fresh rotten eggs early in the morning.[:D] I think the last time I shot BP was in the late 80's, or very early 90's, so couldn't help with your question, just wanted to say the photo's are beautiful. BP is a blast to shoot at dusk!
