You and UW have been getting F-d a whole lot by various delivery companies lately. I'm going to take up a collection and buy you both a years worth of Prep -H.- A little 'love' from the forum...

I just have too many other guns to spread it around to. Which I guess is part of the reason I want to pare the collection down to what I really want to keep and shoot in the long run.

Correct. I ran mine that way on my M4B2 before taking it off (because of rear sight/optic fit). It pushes everything forward and the base creates a nice index point for my thumb. On a more clone note...I basically took Tom Spooner's setup and copied it, except the optic/riser and can (and removing the PEQ, for weight day-to-day). His had a KAC Micro 600m sight, but I grabbed a 300m Micro for "cheap" and will throw it on there...hopefully after USPS delivers it tomorrow.

It's been interesting shooting this. Recoil impulse is "stout," more so than the Adams Arms oprod upper I have, but not terrible. What is terrible is the gas in the face with the suppressor. Recoil is actually fine with the can, and not much different, but it does push a cloud of freedom into your eyes when shooting.

Got some bad news on the 416's. Vented Gas blocks won't just be a swap. We'll be getting a face full of freedom with no relief in sight.

Where is it venting from primarily? Is it a big push out of the ejection port rearward? Or from the charging handle

Charging handle. Use a low back pressure can and it'll help. 30 caliber or Surefire/Dead Air.

I've been told they need to be installed, shrunk on, and then sealed. Not plug and play as it appears. If you get better, more accurate info, let me know. Nothing like a face full of freedom as you put it!
