Is Doug ever doing barrels? Even just coating them would be an improvement in aesthetics, which I know has nothing to do with function. However, seems like in the custom pistol market, this is basically becoming a must.

NiB yes. He was looking for other materials at one point; TiN, ect. Bit not sure what happened with that.

I like the bronze idea.
