Warning, any purchase movement will be strictly emotional and not coming from a "need."

So I've long been enamored by lever guns and each time I start to get interested in them, I find valid reasons why I don't need to spend money on them (and their added ammo expense). That said, I've been watching some videos on the 'tube and I have to admit, I'm having a hard time shaking the itch this time.

Big picture, should I buy one, I think I've settled on a .357 Mag gun with: a) 16-18" barrel, b) option to add scope down the line (because getting old sucks), and c) side loader and not a tube magazine (like the Henry rifles, which would otherwise fill my needs). After some intense lunch break research, it seems it comes down to an older Marlin (JM-stamped) gun. There are options on Gunbroker, and apparently prices have come down (which might make it a reason to grab one now), but beyond that, anything I'm missing? If you're going to tell me "Rossi 92!!!!...." that's great, but expound on the info.

If you're going to tell me, "but why a lever gun?" Well, I don't have a good reason other than that emotional attachment I mentioned at the beginning of the post. Or be swayed to some other shiny object.
