    New Year's Resolutions

Here are my gun related resolutions for 2018...

They are not in order but we shall see how things turn out.

    1. Get or build a .22 LR pistol host.

    2. Undecided still, but I still might build a .300 BLK upper. This one is still a 'maybe' so not quite to resolution stage just yet. I keep going back and forth but it is really low hanging fruit. I decided 'nah' before but it still keeps coming up in my head. Especially since I reload it wouldn't be too expensive to shoot.

    3. Build or buy a good bolt gun. If I am being aggressive with it I could do two of them but I am trying to at least get one done in 2018.

One will be in 6.5 CM and another in an entirely different set up in .308. The 6.5CM will be set up for long range (1,600+ yards), which won't be a cheap proposition. If I do the .308 I am thinking maybe a 16"or 18" suppressor host that can double as a hunting rig.

    4. Top off and/or double up on all of my reloading supplies. Included in this I may invest in some more efficient reloading tools too.

Total bill for these resolutions will come to about $10,000 or more... ughhh. Which reminds me of my other goal to make a million bucks sooner rather than later.

I might not be able to accomplish all of this but I can get at least a good way there if nothing crazy happens.

Do you have any gun related or other resolutions that you want to share? Curious to see what direction everyone is going.

Be more active in my support of 2A rights in my state (Washington). I'm terrified that we're becoming Californicated.
Introduce, educate in safety and take shooting as many people new to the hobby as I can.
Find a way/s to give back to the forum communities and brothers that I enjoy so much.

Get a 2.5-12.5x42 Accupoint or 3-5 quality scope for my .308 AR.

Keep searching for an affordable 6.5 Creedmore AR that has a track record of dependability. An LMT MWS would be perfect, but beyond my budget, so maybe get lucky and find a swap.

Clean up, and organize my work room.

Resist buying another safe and sell some ARs. The hardest resolution as I love them all.

I'm afraid it's too late. I see a AWB coming either through the Legislature or initative in late 2018, adopted in 2019. I keep checking my bucket list firearms off and stocking up on mags every paycheck.

I've been giving money regularly to the state Republicans.

Just wondering what happened to WA state? Is this like the Californiastan spill over like has happened with other states or no?

I am basically asking about the overall political situation.

It seems like WA is becoming another battle ground state for gun rights.

Socialism happened. When your education system is controlled by the government and the educators themselves lean socialist, it's only a matter of time. When I was a kid (in the midwest) drugs were bad and guns were no big deal. In Seattle, it's now the opposite. Hell, even most republicans I know believe that rights and "privileges" can be/are granted by the government. Remember that many of our Founding Fathers didn't even believe the Bill of Rights (including the 2nd amendment)was necessary because nothing in the constitution gives the federal government the authority to take any of those rights away. It saddens me to say that demographics and time are enemies of Liberty in this country.

Well put. It's only getting worse. We have college students advocating communism, meaning they willingly want to give up their freedoms to the government. Insanity.

Back to New Years resolution. Obtain a Glock 31. More volunteer time for veterans assistance programs.

State-wise, we have the same situation in CO.

I think what happened is that too many stopped taking stock of the situation. They thought “It’ll never happen here.” They criticized people who were whistle blowing as being dramatic. And then it only took an election cycle or two to change everything. They got involved too late. As citizens we must be involved always in how we speak, where we spend, and how we live. That’s what a Democracy is.

I just want to get my 308 build put together and pick out the right optic for it.

Other than that, get out and shoot more.
