No problem guy. Found a set of 1/3 co-witness that'll work that I think I'll like. If not I'll try those 10-8's you posted. Thanks for your help, though.

I'm up to three options for EDC with RDS. From left to right, G19 gen 5 MOS w/ RMR, G26 gen 5 with RMR (milled by Jaegerworks), Sig 365XL with Romeo 0.

While the Sig is champ for easy of carry, and the G19 fits my large mits the best, I've been surprised that I shoot the G26 best. It's hard to be certain, but I do think the lower setting of the milled RMR helps me find the dot faster more naturally, but also realize that's likely a result of mostly training for irons. Similarly, for a guy who's shot Glocks for most of his adult life, the Sig is just going to present differently than what my muscle memory allows. That said, I am *easily* more accurate with the 365 w/ Rome than a G43 w/ irons. Also, it feels like the smaller frame of the G26 (w/ extended 12rd mag), forces me to choke up on the grip more tightly which has benefits I wasn't expecting. The extra heft of the G26 over the 365 helps a great deal with recoil, IMO, too.

As it relates to this thread, I have to say that I do think the lower setting you get with a milled slide over the MOS is an advantage, at least for me. So, I'll probably be sending my G17 off to Jaegerworks in due time.

Nice Trio. I also have the same Sig but decided to leave the RDS off for ease of deep concealment. I think you made some good choices there, BU....FT

OK, time to add a RDS to the G17. Talk me out of sending the slide off to Jaegerworks and putting an SRO on this thing. I was reluctant to put the SRO on because it's "not as durable" as the RMR, but it seems there is plenty of field experience with them now that suggest they are still pretty durable and the trade-off is worth it. Am also tempted to get a new slide as this is the early gen5 w/o the front serrations.

Not gonna try to talk you out of it. JagerWerks did my G21 milling, and a ceracoke job on the slide. Could not be more pleased with the result. The G21 is on top. Slide and frame cerakoted by two different shops !

I won't talk you out of it, but if that was mine I would look around for precut slides that have the features you want.

Yes you would have two slides but you could possibly sell the old one if you wanted to get some money back.

If I had a holster to fit it, I would have probably tried a SRO instead of a 508T. And even now, with how ridiculously expensive the RMR HD is, the SRO seems like a solid option. They seem to do fine at the local 2-gun matches and bigger window is a plus.

I think Jaegerwerks does this as well, but in the past I had used DPP Custom because (at the time) they were one of the few vendors that would mill recoil bosses for the RMR footprint. That seems to be more common now, but it can greatly improve the life of the optic/mount by having those since it takes a lot of the stress off the screws.

Thanks, all, especially the "field report" on the SRO. I have the SRO on a long slide P80 build, but think I'll get a 507 comp for that and move the SRO to the 17, but I've also been thinking about putting the SRO on a Benelli M4. I generally want to keep the G17 factory (so as not to mess with the Glock Perfection!) and don't want to introduce potential issues with a new parts. Plus if had an extra slide laying around and another Glock build would probably form around it.

Well, the news about Glock discontinuing their legacy models prompted me to grab a G47 instead of sending my G17 Gen5 out for milling. I acquired an RMR HD a few months ago for a great price and it's just been sitting there waiting for me to make up my mind. I guess I should go holster shopping while I'm waiting for Washington's permission to take home my firearm.

Anyone else by a Glock this week? Sounds like the first Glock V's won't have an MOS option which surprised me since they seemed to be leaning towards making everything MOS.

I don't collect Glocks but the thought has come across my mind to pick one up anyway, and wait to sell it after seeing where the market is at for discontinued Glocks. And yes, I agree thaty is strange for Glock to not have their first Glock V 9's not in MOS models.

You will probably fair better than I did on the holster shopping if the G47 is a MOS. I just got a 6390RDS from Safariland specifically designed for the RMR HD and....it doesn't fit. When I called, Safariland said they can't guarantee fit for milled slides, but if you use a plate, it should work because it lifts the RMR HD's notch up over a spot on the ALS assembly. A bit disappointing.

I can return it, but then I'm still in need of a holster, so I may just perform some surgery. On the plus side, the nice lady at Safariland told me that if I mess up my ALS assembly, they sell new ones separately for $26. So yea for me, I guess.

Try either a 6354 or a 6390 made for an ACRO?

Ah, that would be frustrating. I ordered the 7378RDS ? 7TS ALS for SRO/HD and X300. I'll report back once I have everything in hand.

My 6390 for my Prodigy worked with the RCR for it. My 6354 was made for the G47 with an ACRO, but so far only a G45 or a G19 with an ASCRO works for it. A G17 Gen 5 MOS with ACRO does not which was weird because I thought that the G47 was the same size in lengths I don't have A G47 either to see if it worked at all.

Because of the overhang on the HD, an ACRO holster would have the same problem (based on my research and what Safariland said). I'd have to look at what a 6354 is, but it wasn't coming up when I was narrowing down what config I wanted (ALS only, X300U, G34 length for a threaded barrel).

I was able to do some dremeling at work yesterday and once I found the right attachment, it was a quick mod. I couldn't figure out how to get the ALS latch out of the holster with only one set of hands, so I just did the work inside the holster and it wasn't an issue. Locks up great now.
