    Leupold problem

Has anybody ever experienced this before? I posted about that 6.5 Grendel build I just wrapped up in the build section. Well. When I started shooting on Monday, the reticle seemed a little off on the X axis. Okay. Something must have been off on the bench levelness or something tweaked when I tightened it down. No big deal. Went to level it out just now and after 10min of loosening, leveling, tightening, checking level again, so on and so forth, THIS is what we have. Granted, I am not the owner of the gun, but this kinda pisses me off actually. Anybody seen this out of Leupold or any other manufacturer? Thank you.

Best bet is going to be to contact Leupold. Personally never dealt with that issue or Leupold. But I’ve heard of cases of that issue from a number of manufacturers. You didn’t overtorque the rings did you?

I don’t think overtorquing would give you that issue specifically anyway. Just a thought.

From what I understand Leupolds warranty is pretty good.

My first kahles k16i had a canted reticle, although not as bad as that. Definitely unacceptable, but Leupold will fix or replace it.

After doing some reading around, this is way more of a common problem than I ever would have thought. Especially from Leupold. With a 3% tolerance of cant. WHAT?! So. I’m gonna check the date on the scope order, and try Optics Planet first for a replacement. If no go, I’ll get a hold of Leupold.

Sorry you are having this problem. I have several of their products and over the last forty-plus years I have had two issues with Leupold scopes. Both times their Customer Service took care of the problem with speed and at no charge other than shipping to them. If Optics Planet can't / won't help, Leupold will.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Leupold claims up to 3* is acceptable. That’s why it’s acceptable to me to NEVER buy Leupold again. 3k Mk6 and you want to talk about what’s acceptable?

But that appears to be over 5-6* at least.

It could also be a broken erector spring. Had a few Vortex optics that happened to.

Does the amount of cant change when moving the turrets?
