Mercon Optics ?

What's the deal with Mercon Optics ? I keep seeing UWone77 and various other people posting images all hush hush on Ig and other social media and I want to know whats in the box ..........whats in the box ?

It's a new optics company. Website not quite up yet. First batch will be avail through Rainier Arms I believe... but not entirely sure on that because they're going to go direct to consumer vs dealers.

This is a 1-6x24 with a 30mm tube. I'll list the specs as I remember them

Price will be I'm guessing 799-899 range, probably on the lower side as an intro price.

First impressions, the glass is very very good. Will get comparisons right away against a Vortex Gen II Razor. Lighter than the Razor 25oz and 21.5oz for the II and IIe vs the 18oz Mercon. Anodizing is off... they will admit that, but will change it in future batches.

Haven't used mine at the range, so the reticle... I'll see if I can grab a picture.

I played around with one last week. Glass seems good. Reticle and illumination hopefully get revised.

I would agree with this. Not a fan of the reticle, and illumination needs work.

6x with 24mm objective results in a MUCH bigger exit pupil, hence more generous eye box. 10x with 24mm is so small that the exit pupil is smaller than your pupils when they open up as daylight drops to dusk, and makes the scope difficult to use unless you dial it back to 6-8x.
