buffer spring noise
I recently put together a Nosveske lower and mated it to a factory built Noveske upper. When I tested fired it I could hear a -for lack of a better term- springy “boing” noise coming from the buffer tube. For comparison I have a factory built 6920 which doesn’t make a noise at all. Spring, H buffer, buffer tube are mil-spec CMT. Any ideas? Thanks

to be honest, several of the m-16s i've qualified on through my career (AF) have had that "boing" noise from the spring... and my dad had told me before i even joined up, long ago, that he heard the same thing when he first qualified, shortly after the m-16 came into service. whether it can be silenced, i don't know, but it's not abnormal, in my experience.

It's normal. My Stag 2T has a cabine buffer and spring and makes no noise. My DD M4 has H buffer and I hear that boing you hear.
