HSGI T.R.A.S.H. Bag.
T.R.A.S.H. Bag..
This beast is another one of Gene's Creations.
For years Gene has been doing RUCK Modifications to ALICE Packs for Force Recon, and Scout Snipers..
He was in the middle of one when the Idea for this Pack came to him..
He quickly threw together a Prototype so the Scout Sniper could give it a look over and make suggestions.
The Marine came and picked up His Modified Ruck and took one look at the creation and Ordered one in Multicam (called 4 more Marines, and just off his word they all order one in Multicam).
Minor input from multiple sources and he created what you see below.
The pack has the same Cubic Inch Capacity as the Large ALICE Pack.
But instead of having the external ammo pouches it is completely covered in MOLLE/PALS Webbing.
The bag is easily accessible via the front "Tongue" that zips down using 2 HSGI standard large tooth zippers, or via the "Lid" and going through the rain-fly.
On the back side of the "Tongue" are a couple Mesh pockets.
On the back side of the main compartment where the Radio Pouch is usually located are 6 Rows of MOLLE.
There is a pocket behind the MOLLE here large enough for your favorite Porn mag or Sketch Pad.
A zipper is located on the lid to access the pocket built into it.
There is so many features to this bag that I cannot name them all right now, I will post more about this bag after I pick mine up.
The MSRP for this pack is $220
Not on their website yet. Call to order.
Available in HSGI's standard Color Palette:
Khaki, Smoke Green, Black, ACU, Multicam, Desert Digital.
And if you ask nicely I'm pretty sure he'll make you one in Maroon or Light Navy W/ or W/O Black MOLLE.. (For you low profile Cats out there)
But Gene's mind doesn't stop at just the Pack itself..
He has been making the shit out of the ALIPAD's for a while now.
Anyone who uses an ALICE pack seriously needs an ALIPAD on it.
MSRP $95
He also created this Scabbard for Snipers to keep their M4 close at hand.
There are 2 more Scabbards in the works. One for the M70 and another for the Mk-11....
MSRP $55
T.R.A.S.H. Bag $220
ALIPAD $95
Surplus Frame/Straps $25-$35
So for Approx $350 you can have one helluva RUCK Set up...

Looks like a nice option, but who ever shot the pictures may want to use a real weapon, otherwise it makes everything look like airsoft equipment.
The pad on the frame is a nice touch as well.

Gene uses Airsoft weapons and Blue Guns for his mock ups.
I'll stop by the Shop this afternoon after work with my Rifle..
A user on another forum wants to see a Rifle with optic mounted in the Scabbard..

My AK in the Standard M4/AK Scabbard.
My M4 with EoTech 552 on Larue Riser and Surefire G2led in a Viking Tactics Offset Mount on the Quad Rail in the Optics Scabbard.
I took these pics real quick while I was in TAG.
I'll try and get some better ones outside today.

Thanks for sharing all the pics. That's one solid looking ruck. Would it be capable of mounting onto a MOLLE I-III frame with straps? Thanks

Just found this forum this morning. Looks like alot of good gear info and pic's here. I've registered and bookmarked the site. This looks like a nice pack that might be just what I'm looking for to replace the British Royal Marine H-Frame Arctic pack I've been using as my large pack. I like the scabbard as well. Can you carry that AK in it with the side folder folded? My rifle is an Arsenal 107CR with an Ultimak rail mounting an Aimpoint scope. My stock is the metal triangle folder just like yours. Do you think I could haul my rifle folded in this rig? I think I'll be on the horn ordering one up soon. I have a set of Tactical Tailor Super Straps and Super Belt on my British H-frame so it wouldn't be a big deal for me to get the "TRASH Bag" (Love the name as well) set up with an ALICE frame and harness. Thanks for the write up and pic's.

The original AK Scabbard would not fit my AK folded, but Contact Gene and tell him what your looking to do and he'll call me to borrow my Rifle to make it for ya..
I am pretty excited, the Newest version is out now and fits the Down East 1606 frame as well as the ALICE frame. I sold my T.R.A.S.H. bag to a deploying Marine, and will be replacing it with one of these newer models. There are a couple other new features that make this bag a great value..

Pulled off another Forum...
Well guys , sorry it took so long to get to the proto-type . But here it is !
Well i just so happened to have some 500d in MARPAT , so what I have done here also is to construct the TRASH Bag out of 500 denier Cordura with a 430d pack cloth liner to see if it cut down on weight . Well the scale does not lie . It was only one oz. lighter . So to say right off , we will not be making any TRASH bags out of 500d . Now I had only enough MARPAT to make the one and only MARPAT TRASH Bag and do notplan on bringing any more into the shop , so please do not ask .
Now with the modification , the proto-type HSGI TRASH Bag will work both on the ALICE and the DE 1606 pack frame . Setup on the ALICE frame looks and adapts the same way when used . The 1606 frame mounts very similiar , but has more options to secure the pack to the frame such as weaving the supprt straps through slots at the base of the frame . Here are the photos .
Gene @ HSGI
Final 4 pics . Also new upgrade on the ziippers on the back panel . They have two zipper sliders . One slider slides downwards which operates to fully open the rear panel and the 2nd zipper slider pulls upwards to allow just an opening to slide items in and out . And yes , they are #10 coil tooth zippers .
