If you ever visit NC you can shoot mine, although it's not as nice looking as Former11Bs. It's a blued model from the mid seventies. Oh, sent you a surprise today. :)

I was in Asheville for a wedding last spring. That's a nice area, impressed with the landscape, and how there seemed to be much less traffic than what I'm used to.

Anyhow, there is just something about a stainless Python vs. Blued...

Thanks, brother. I got it from my wife's grandfather who was pruning down his collection a few year back. It is the smoothest shooting handgun I own, even double action. The action is perfect...the trigger just glides back and is very light

Here's a sad story for you:

I was gun shopping a few weeks ago with my neigbor who was looking for a S&W 686, and a guy was buying a Python (6" Stainless) from the Used Guns shelf. The ticket rang it up as $473!!!!!! Apparently the previous owner traded it straight up for some semi auto 9mm (sale price of $473, so the trade in value of the Python was tagged as $473). The gun store employee said the first person who picked it up bought it, which was 5 minutes before we got there. I would have snatched it up on the spot.

Ah, land of the granola-crunchies. My father and his 6 brothers grew up in Asheville. My grandmother owned and ran a motel for 40 odd years right near the downtown area. It is a wonderful little town, and the outdoor-to-do-list is really good. Plus there are a ton of breweries, including new belgium and sierra nevada, and 170-180 restaurants. We have a family reunion there every-other year and shoot a lot of sporting clays as the family activity.

I'm a terrible photographer. The flash worked in my favor today and killed most of the wear marks on the finish. This is a well used and loved pistol.
