    Interesting read

I have not seen this discussed or posted here and found it interesting. (It works)

I usually edit mine out, but once in awhile I'll miss one.

This all stemmed from an incident about 5 years ago when the ATF came looking for a particular gun that someone I knew either had or previously had. Anyhow, the ATF found it online through a picture, and backtracked to see who owned it. They also later discovered that same serial was not on the NFA registry, but it was configured in an SBR. This person could have gotten into some serious trouble, but ultimately did not.

I can't recall all the details now.... but there is someone potentially watching, and I'm definitely not advocating for illegal NFA items, but since we as a society no longer value privacy, the least you can do is edit out your serials.

If you edit out your ser. number, can't they just use the same software to reverse the edit?

I edit all of mine locally and then export as a JPG. There's no iteration data saved in the .jpg that I'm aware of, only evidence that there's been an edit.

But I also don't post my guns on FB because...it's Facebook and it's horrible.
