    9mm SD round

Federal decided to stop making my favorite carry round so I am on the hunt for a new round. What are you guys running? And why do you have confidence in that round? TIA

    What were you carrying before?

I have shot numerous SD rounds and for reliability and great performance the 124gr HST are my go to.

Federal TB 135+p LE9T5 Kind of leaning towards a bonded round again. Its been a few years since I researched 9mm rounds and was just curious what you guys are using...

Have you looked at the Lehigh rounds? I'm not a ballistics nerd, but they seem to get very good reviews in testing. I grabbed 200 rounds during their last sale and will see how they run in the night stand gun.

Any round with a bonded jacket will do. I like 124gr +P Gold Dots. 9mm was originally designed around a 124gr bullet so it just makes sense to me. Just make sure to fire a bunch of them in your actual carry gun to make sure it runs well, but I'm sure you know that

Department uses 147gr Gold Dots. We did an extensive ammo test a few years back and the 147 was the best combo of penetration and expansion. I used to carry 124gr Gold Dots, but now also carry 147gr Gold Dots. I still have a supply of Federal HSTs

How much difference was there with 124 s 147?

The 147 is gonna go through a modest barrier and still have enough chug to make hole for blood to escape. Example: a 124 gr hp loses more of it's power going through a hollow core door compared to a similar 147 gr boolit. Theres a video floating around of a Carhart jacket stopping a 9 mm (probably 115 gr Blazer or worse).

147 HSTs preferred for me for the reasons Joelski stated. That said, I’m not going to waste my Speer and Ranger on paper. I think the difference is between verry good and a little extra very good.

Just don’t load 158 g in your Glock 26. I like them in my 7+” Evo and Ar 9 suppressed, but big no-no in sub-compact barrels.

That's odd; Federal puts out a 150 gr HST they claim is optimal for compact guns. Is it a feeding issue?
