Man charged with eight counts of having 'high capacity mags'.

    He's out on $50,000 bail.

    How insane is that.

So, nine rounds are okay? And, I didn't realize that magazines were "ammunition storage devices" ...

    From the article:

    Quote:
According to South Windsor Lt. Mark Cleverdon, 240 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, typically used for assault weapons, also were found on the property. The rounds are not illegal, however, he said.

In addition, police found a light that can be mounted on a gun.

Magazines are ammunition storage devices for guns that repeatedly fire. It has been illegal to buy or sell such magazines in Connecticut since 2013. Under state law, a high-capacity magazine has 10 or more rounds. End Quote

I thought that, unless a single shot, all firearms "repeatedly fire" ... like every time you pull the trigger. I believe that is part of the functional design.

    This is crazy.

To me, it seems "cruel and unusual" that you could face jail time for something that is perfectly legal in 45 out of 50 states. Even crazier when you consider this is protected by the Constitution. Which part of "shall not be infringed" confuses our lawmakers and judges?

Those magazines aren’t the only “high capacity” thing in that article. Dayum
