Thanks to Alamo I tried the Raptor batteries he linked and they are top notch with excellent run time! I switched to those a while back and have used them ever since. I run my headlamp on level 4 and can get almost 8 hours on that high setting which is 750 lumens... best batteries i have used, thanks Alamo.

I'm revisiting this topic since I'm starting to burn through 123 batteries faster now. Have you seen any issues with those Rapthor batteries leaking? I understand if you're burning through them often, there might not be time for them to have issues, but figured I'd check in and see how they're continuing to work for you.
At the moment, it looks like it's $1.75/battery for the Panasonics and $1.19/battery for the Rapthors.
I've always had a bad experience with alkaline batteries leaking but have never had issues with the Surefire 123s. Yes, I understand they're a different chemical make up and of a different construction, but it's still something I'm sensitive to.

I have not had any issues at all. That said I never subjected them to harsh treatment like sitting in a hot car or sub zero temps.

Same here, zero issues and I just received another order of them. I am using them in all my CR123 applications and they hold up well along with a much better run time than any other CR123 I have previously used...
