Ported Barrell and slide for G19

Looking to build a combat G19 non RMR and need rec for a ported barrel and slide for muzzle flip. All help appreciated ahead.

Take a good look at Radians Afterburner+Ramjet compensator, I have read alot of great things about it. There is a bunch of youtube videos on it and if I am not mistaken it reduces recoil/muzzle flip by 40%. Also using heavy for caliber rounds like 147g non +P also helps alot with recoil and muzzle flip. Add in a Tungsten guide rod and you will have a super flat shooting pistol! I run the tungsten guide rod in all my glocks, super impressed with it... I think one of the great things about the Radian setup is that if you start with a standard factory glock all you have to do is switch back to the factory barrel to have a non comped pistol if you want to do so. Your not locked into a pistol that has a permanent comp cutouts...

Tungsten? Is that for weight to keep the rise down? I have lights do that role and doubles as an actual light if needed.

Im not a fan of running lights on my pistols, it adds bulk and you also need to buy a special holster. The odds of actually needing a light on my pistol is extremely low, I dont go running into dark buildings, I stay out of dark alleys and my situational awareness is always at 110%... I have to build my gear on what I beleive I will run into 99.9% of the time and not the "what if" factor of the last .1% Where we live and what we do and where we go will determine what we need, some guys feel the need to run lights on their pistols and there is nothing wrong with that. There is no one size fits all when it comes to our personal safety.

Monsoon Tactical has typically gotten good reviews if you really wanna port, though I personally prefer comps. Chunk ports can cause some loss in accuracy.

Any of you guys done any low light shooting with a comped or ported pistol? It just dawned on me that since a good part of the flash is now being diected upwards in your line of site thats got to affect things...

Glock19C test by Honest Outlaw. Start about 1:50. I put a standard barrel in mine when I carried it. If needed to defend at night I have to think the vertical fireball would affect my night vision.

That's what I'm thinking, plus I might carry one pistol in daytime, and another at night. One thing I haven't heard mentioned is that muzzle blast out of a non comp/ported barrel in a handgun at night isn't all that helpful either. Anyway, went with Radian/Tungsten option so I can switch barrels back and force without a ported slide. New sights and slick up the trigger just a bit to avoid liability issues. Just waiting for the parts, now. Hopefully it'll work out.

I might have to take a look at the Radian for my G45 and trial a tungsten for my 17. The PMM micro comp soured me on comps because I was having stoppages but I have heard nothing but great reports from the Radian users, and some of those guys were using really weak ammo and it stayed cycling.

Come to think of it, there were some issues from a few videos back when Milspec Mojo was using a new NATO no name brand sourced from 9x19 but that's really it.

I will also vouch for tungsten guide rods. When I was racing pistols I’d always use one. Back to back it with whatever the gun comes with (especially if the factory guide rod is polymer) and you can tell the difference.

I've used them in Glocks before and could tell the difference. I believe it will help with the inertia from recoil while the ported end helps with muzzle flip. Don't really know for sure what the heck's going to happen, will have to wait until everything get's here and try out some light and heavy (bullets) loads and see. I also have a boatload of Rem UMC 115 gn. to shoot up and finally have an excuse to shoot a bunch of it up, when I get everything together.
