24/25 training

It seems like training courses are drying up and are harder to find lately. I messed around and didn't go to one that I wanted last year thinking they would be held in the same place this year. Nope, moved too far for me to travel.

I retired and even though I shoot a fair amount I need to polish up some stuff and a little challenge won't hurt. That and I got tapped for running a church security detail. It's interesting.

So what's good for training courses currently. I'm having are hard time finding anything enticing for Pistol or Carbine classes in the Western U.S. Thunder Ranch and Gunsite excluded.

Bonus if You have anything in Idaho, Montana, Utah, Oregon, Western Washington, Wyoming, and Nevada. Heck, even the lost state of Colorado.

I need to schedule one and get it on my, not-so-busy calendar.

I'm in WA and have taken courses through Fieldcraft Survival (Mike Glover) and Sheepdog Response. I was pleased with both. I don't see Sheepdog coming to Washington this year, though, but Fieldcraft is based out of Utah and does courses elsewhere in the mountain / western states.

Field Craft is on my list. They are about a 3 hour drive from my place so it saves a bunch on fuel and lodging. Shaw up in Northern Idaho interests me but I need to reach out to him and see if I can duck into one of his LEO courses. (It's not a guarantee since I'm retired).

I feel like the days big instructors and big training classes have fizzled out. Lots of smaller classes with local instructors are still around, but you have to do some searching to find a good instructor.

FWIW, I have always wanted to try out one of Travis Haleys classes.

I'd like to take a class with Pat MacNamara. When I first learned of PatMac way back during the Panteo heydays, I thought he was over-the-top too intense for my liking, but I've grown to really respect and admire him. That fact that he's older than me inspires me to do better. Unfortunately for me, but great for him, he only does classes near his home in North Carolina. Who knows, maybe one day I'll make a trip to train with him.
