Streamlight MegaStream handheld

I?m a huge fan of Streamlight?s compact pocket carry size lights. I have two Microstreams (USB rechargeable 250 lumen and 50 lumen mode version). I had a Macrostream (500 lumen and 50 lumen) but lost it hunting two years ago. I saw the MegaStream and decided to give it a shot, since it?s got three modes: 1800 lumen (26000 candela), 500 lumen and 150 lumen, 120min, 210 min, 13 HOUR run time respectively

The microstreams are compact enough for a back pocket or fifth pocket, the Macrostream was larger but not bulky. The MegaStream is not a pocket light IMO. I knew it was bigger going into it but still handy sized in the pouch it comes in. Will be perfect to ride in my vehicle or in a hunting pack in case I need to trail a deer or find my way out of the woods.

I tested it up against a 1000 lumen Streamlight Pro-Tac and an Arisaka Scout 300 (400 lumen, 18000 candela)

Arisaka 300 Scout (123 Lithium battery version). Very focused beam, very little spill. Malkoff E1HTv2 head

The tree back there is exactly 38 yards to the trunk from where Im standing


All the different threaded pieces from the head, body, and clicky cap are seated well and snug tight with the o-rings.

I really like this light so far

I pretty much carry one of the MicroStreams everywhere I go. Great little lights. I also have a Cloud Defensive Chicro and I might actually prefer the streamlight (by a little).

Sounds like I might want to pick up a MegaStream, although one of the things I like about the Micro is that they are cheap enough that I won't feel bad if I loose one.
