If anyone's in need for a buffer kit (no stock), Aero Precision has a sale on their blem for $25. If you call in, you can request it shipped via USPS (read: cheaper shipping).

Just be aware that both the Aero and DSG receiver extensions are 6061.

Personally, that's a no go for me, but others maybe ok with it.

I can understand why you want the (significantly) stronger 7075 aluminum. I am wondering how much stress a receiver extension comes under. I'm just asking to further my education. Thanks

7075 is 40% stronger than 6061 and either BCM or ALG 7075 extensions are around $38.

If you have to mortar you gun trying to get a stuck casing out, you're going to damage your 6061. If you're just plinking at the range and not taking a class, it probably won't make a difference to you.

Yep - that's the purpose. Will most likely go on a future .22 plinker build.

I build all my guns as if they were going to be used hard in the field/classes/Home Defense. To me it's worth it vs. saving $20. Just my 2 cents.

Im the same way. Started out "cheap" I learned buy once cry once. I've seen friends cheap parts fail at the range. Everything is built as if its the last firearm I will own. Resale is easiertoo

Exactly. Every gun should be built and cared for like your life depends on it. Some day someone's life may very well depend on that firearm.

Makes sense. So far, all the parts I have purchased or won have been very solid parts.
