Below is the Rainier Gear product release information for their new Tactical Tailor Mini-MAV.
Staff is in the process of doing a review, and a thread should be posted shortly.

This is currently a Rainier Gear Exclusive from Tactical Tailor. We wanted something a little different then was currently available on the market to meet some common applications presented to Military and LEO operators and civilians alike.

Presenting the Mini-MAV (Mini Modular Assault Vest) a low-profile and modular chest rig designed to meet the following applications:
  1. Carry a light loadout of equipment to support short operations, increasing speed and mobility of the wearer.
  2. Worn while driving or riding in a vehicle and not interfering with entering, exiting, or operating the vehicle.
  3. Be worn under a light jacket, BDU top or sweatshirt and be relatively concealed or worn under a heavy jacket and be fully concealed.
  4. Worn by LEO when a few AR15 or pistol magazines are needed to support law enforcement higher risk operations.
  5. Worn by students in a tactical class when a only needing a few rifle and pistol magazines to support firing strings and training.
  6. Provide a simple alternative and/or addition to a more advanced and full chest rig containing a larger loadout.
  7. Very fast and easy to don and doff.
Here are the specifics of the Mini-MAV:
  1. Made with 1000d Cordura by Tactical Tailor and showing their amazing quality and bomb-proof construction.
  2. Construction is very clean with the stitching being uniform and reinforced in all of the higher stress areas.
  3. Constructed with 6-rows of webbing, 3-channels high and 2-rows of webbing, 2-channels high.
Below are some pictures of the set-up I originally had in mind for the Mini-MAV. Shown with one Tactical Tailor 5.56 3-Mag Shingle and 2 Knife/Flashlight/Pistol Mag pouches. The Mag shingle holds both standard AR-15 30 round magazines and Magpul P-Mags securely and very flat against the chest. You can use the bungee cords for additional security though it isn't really necessary. The additional side pouches hold a knife and flashlight and if needed can hold 2 pistol magazines.

This set-up is very light and comfortable for extended wear and does not interfere at all with mobility or movement of my arms. Firing both a rifle and pistol in the standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone positions is very comfortable with this setup.

Here is a picture of the Tactical Tailor Mini-Mav worn under a light jacket.

You can see the Tactical Tailor Mini Mav is a very low profile chest rig.
