Made in the USA??!!

I am in the process of purchasing soft sided gun cases for
my Bushmaster and Mossberg 590A1.
Not overly concerned about being discreet.
I definitely want to buy "Made in the USA".
I really liked the looks of the 5.11 VTAC (until I found it was made in China).
I also like the looks of the Galati XTs, but have not yet found where they are made. If they are U.S., they look like a bargain.
If the Galatis are foreign, I will be moving on to Eagle.
Any advice or experiences will be greatly appreciated.

A decade, or so, ago I had a dealer relationship with Assault Systems. Great products, excellent warranty service. Never had a return or complaint. Their products are manufactured in the U.S.A. The name has been changed, but the quality remains the same.

I am familiar with Tactical Tailor.
Only case I find currently offered is discreet.
Am leaning towards Eagle.
Friend informs me his Galati is Chinese.

I've had cases by Tactical Tailor and Eagle and they are both built to last. With the Eagle cases I had, most were the non-discrete version. But apparently that's not a concern for you.

Using the word "discreet" is a marketing move, just like using the word "tactical" is. Tactical Tailor is one of my favorites because I have worked with, and know many of them. There is no doubt in my mind that they will treat anyone right who I send their way.

TT has solid MIL backgrounds, and is very dedicated to keeping the military in mind as they create products. They are also supportive of the LE community, and have done custom (and off the shelf) work for many special teams and departments that I know.

I find it interesting that they do not seem to have a dedicated shotgun case, I'll mention that to them. If nothing else, it seems that everyone is moving towards a wide bag so they can call it discreet, so a narrower bag may be a good move in addition to their current lineup.





If you have any ideas that you would find desirable in a gun case, post it, and I'll make sure it gets to the right people.

As always, thanks for your insight.
I have been very impressed with Tactical Tailor quality.
I plan on purchasing an active shooter bag and their enhanced day pack in the near future.
They do designate the 45" Covert Carry as a shotgun bag.
It is 9" tall vs 12" for the 32/36/42" rifle cases.

So for now, my choices come down to the Eagle Industries Shotgun Case (RG-41) or the 45" Tactical Tailor Covert Carry.

Have had the recent Eagle discreet and their M4 series bags. All poorly engineered and made in my view to the point where I could not use for any application. Discarded all Eagle bags. In their discreet cases, the 4 slot mag case was sewn in the same compartment as the carbine. So when you close the case, the Mags rest on top and press against the carbine. Unless you get the LE version, mags in 4 slot pouch would rub against carbine, optics, lasers, etc on weapon. The padding was also rather thin, I feel it would not protect what's mounted on carbine and would inadvertent turn on mounted laser switches as bag is carried, stored, etc. With the straps, I could never figure out how to carry these cross the chest over shoulder comfortably or if they would support load.

Have never had the LE discreet versions, I think since this model would have no hook and loop to hold carbine in place in main compartment. So carbine would shift around. The outer zippered pocket would contain the 4 pocket mag case, which is good. Don't think you could put your sg in there if you're looking to carry both in one bag, since there are no hook and loop fasteners and that too would also shift around. There is a padded 2 gun carry case version but have never used it, maybe that will fill your need.

Go to a stocking dealer shop or show and see the bags up close before you purchase. Don't know your application and a public forum may not be the appropriate place to discuss it, but in a general sense for peace of mind, save your money, I'd recommend one or more quality hard cases.

Eagle bags may not be made in USA. Some of their products are now manufactured in the Dominican Republic. You would need to check with them to see if the bag you are purchasing is actually a domestic product. Even if it is, it will probably be made in Puerto Rico.
