I picked up a pair of EP3 at S.H.O.T. and just ordered 2 pair of EP4's from brownells. As some of you know Mardi Gras is in full swing down here in New Orleans and it gets pretty loud on the route. Being LE I am assigned parade duties. I have been wearing the Ear pro while working my parade assignments, I am impressed. With the loud crowd, marching bands, and other related noise making devices, the ear pro really cut down the noise and I am still able to hear my radio through the shoulder mic. I have not had a chance to use them at our indoor range so I cannot comment on wearing them while shooting.

The EP3's work great when you need loud noises to be a little quieter but you still need to be able hear things. Just my experience so far, but they are more of an "all around" earpro set when you can't wear over the ear hearing pro. I have used them while shooting, while conducting livefires, and even at a recent Dropkick Murphy's concert. They have worked perfectly for my intentions.

Someone gave me a set awhile back, but thanks. I've been kicking around the idea of picking up some more just to have on hand.

Just as an FYI for our local LEO's, Last year the federal Govt. handed out 650 million in payments for LEO's with hearing damages.

Over 40% of officers will have their hearing detract sufficiently to require hearing aids.

However, only 10% of officers use "active" hearing protection on duty, instead of just at the range.

    I used EP4's for a 3 day Magpul dynamic carbine I course,
I'm going to buy more and give them out to my deputies that are assigned to my squad.

I gave out a bunch of them as Christmas gifts. A very useful stocking stuffer for the troops on shift.

I've used them at the LWRC shoot at the Shot Show. I typically carry a pair in my TAD jacket. They work okay for me in the outdoors. I've also used them indoors and decided that I should wear some hearing protection over them (double protection).
My hearing is good so I might be more sensitive.

Comfortwise I could wear them for a few hours. They do eventually bug my ears, but it's not a major discomfort. I've never had them fail on me (seal breaking like one guy posted).

I have 2 sets, one on me, other in my bed stand.

I was given a set of these, wore them twice while shooting rifles and pistols outdoors.

Both times, I was deaf in my right ear for about a day after.

As far as I know, they are the correct size for my ears and yes I had the tiny holes plugged up.

I think it had to do with my cheek weld affecting the seal in my right ear, I went back to my Peltors.
