    Kommando Magazine (K-ISOM)

But I was thinking of showing you guys what we did so far for a while now and don't want to wait any longer. I hope that you can excuse this for now.

So here we go, meet K-ISOM - Kommando - International Special Operations Magazine:

This was our Issue #1, published in september 2008.

It was quite a good start but we had - and still have - a long way to go improving layout, topics, working bits and pieces to fit together as a whole.
It is interesting to see the project develop and I think that there still is plenty to do better and - fortunately - a lot still to cover.

Our concept calls for high quality print and paper, each issue is supposed to be more of a collectors item then a throw-away reading stuff.

Remember, this is a bimonthly publication, so there aren't as many issues as months that have passed since the inception of the magazine. In the beginning each issue was 80 pages strong.

So far we are mainly german-language based (there is a very basic english summary in each issue, though), but there is talk about changing that sometime in the (far?) future.

    Issue #2

    Issue #3

    Issue #4

    Issue #5

    Issue #6

    Issue #7

Starting with this issue we had to add 4 more pages to fit everything in then 84 (we are already working on advancing to 88)...

    Issue #8

    Issue #9

And here we are today, this is issue no. 10, just fresh out:

    Issue #10

Because some of the material we produce doesn't make it into the regular issues we decided to do specials (for now it is planned to do 2 per year) centered around special topics. Each Special is 100 pages strong:

Special #1 - Amphibious Special Units

And here is the upcoming one:

Special #2 - Recce and LRRP Units, Armament, Equipment

And as there is still material which should be properly addressed (e.g. we have a couple of correspondents who are or where on-site in AFG and they came up with a lot of interesting stuff) we are working on another addition which will be named K-ISOM MISSIONS. The concept right now asks for a 120 pages strong edition. The first one will be concentrating on Afghanistan, covering OEF, ISAF, Special Forces, GECON and the like.

No cover for this project so far but I'll keep this thread updated as we go, we are currently aiming for release in may...

Great magazine- I just wish I read German. (I picked up an issue in Cologne in September with an article about Viking Tactics) European magazines are so much more detailed than American ones- particularly German magazines.
