Front sight cant
I just got my AR zeroed and noticed my flip up Troy rear sight is adjusted almost all the way to the right. I contacted the company and they have no problem taking it back and fixing it. I was wondering if anyone else thinks its too far over too, or this type of thing is normal. Just trying to decide if its worth sending back, the company is paying for shipping so no cost there.

Quib you are a source of valueble infomation. You helped me more than once, thank you. This is my first AR and is special as I learn here. As you can see there is slight cant, so my question is should I twist the barrel counter clockwise (looking at it from the front), seems its only a small amount to correct but don't want to mess up. Measured the difference and is about 3/8 of an inch to be centered. Don't want to be anal, just want it right. Once again thank you so much.

You have an offer from the mfgr to fix the FSB cant. I would take them up on it. As I mention in my FSB Cant tutorial, severe canting should be corrected by the mfgr if possible.
If you have the necessary tools available and are comfortable with the task, it might just be as simple as loosening the barrel nut, following the tutorial to center and hold the FSB, and retightening the barrel nut. If the FSB is true to the barrel index pin, this might be all the mfgr themselves would be doing. Turn around time I think should be quick.
I always suggest taking up the offer from the mfgr first, verses taking on the job alone. Unless of course again, you are comfortable with first attempting to correct the problem yourself.

You know it never occured to me it maybe the Troy rear sight. I have an Aimpoint M3 which when I use my irons the red dot lines up to the front post. I feel abit dumb here, not really sure if thats it, although I did send it back. I'm sure they will set me straight. Thanks again Quib.

Any updates? I seem to have the same issue. Got a set of Troy flip-up sights directly from Troy and after zeroing the rear buis I found I had to adjust it very far to the right. My issue is that at the same time I got the Troy buis, I had a Larue 10.0 rail installed. I had a local ar-15 armorer install the handguard. Can't tell if its a handguard install issue or a faulty Troy buis. Going back to the ar-15 armorer next week to see if he can fix it. Photos below I took yesterday of the issue.
