So I was in the market for a nice weapons case, something to tote my guns to and from the range and matches. After weeks of talking to friends, surfin’ the net, hitting the gun stores/shows, I came across this jewel. It had everything I was looking for, and I wasn’t getting my pants pulled down on the price. Voodoo Tactical, has only been around for only a few years, but I had heard some good things about their products. They sell everything from the weapons case I just got, to all other types of kit one may need. I don’t want to bore anyone, so I’ll get down to business…

Voodoo Tactical 42” Padded Weapons Case:
-Currently on sale for $95.95 (plus S&H) for all colors except Multicam, which is $149.95.
-Available Colors: Black, OD Green, Coyote Tan, ACU, and Multicam.
-Also available in 36” or 46” (prices vary).
They also carry several other cases such as drag bags, shotgun scabbards, and shooting mats.

Ordering was a snap, and was shipped the next business day via UPS ground, received the case in 3 days. Box was a little beat up, but that was probably UPS, and it’s not like anything inside was breakable. Case was sealed in a plastic bag, complete with warranty (1 year limited) info, sales receipt, and a coupon code for 10% off a future purchase (yet the offer had expired April 30th, and I didn’t even get the package until May 4th, so WTF?). But that most likely be remedied with a phone call to customer service, so no real big upset there.

Initial inspection of the case was pleasing. I found it to be solidly constructed: zippers worked smoothly, plastic buckles snap together easily, and Velcro fasteners “stick” together securely. The stitching for the most part is good, but there are a few places I would have liked to see it a little more robust. Also, the bag is constructed out of ballistic pack cloth; I would have preferred it to be made with 1000 denier Cordura, or other more durable fabric. As well as seen YKK zippers used. But you can’t always have everything (unless money is no object) right?

Front of the bag has three, Velcro/buckle secured pouches, with elastic cord-locks, that I was able to easily stuff a total of 14 Pmags into. There is also a decent amount of MOLLE/PALS webbing on the front to attach additional magazine or other such pouches. The main interior sections are adequately padded, and have plenty of room for your weapons up to 40.5” in length. The front “secondary” compartment contains two padded handgun pouches, as well as two smaller zipper compartments that can hold a variety of other small kit. Carry options with this bag are great. There is a hand carry strap that’s webbing wraps around the vertical axis of the bag, and is sewn securely throughout. There is a detachable shoulder strap that is well padded and uses metal hardware fasteners and D rings. Yet my favorite carry features are the detachable backpack straps. They are fully adjustable, nicely padded, and most importantly: it is relatively comfortable while in backpack mode, even fully loaded!
Ok, so let’s get into some pictures…

Center pouch could easliy fit a couple more mags.

This is a little disappointing, these tie-downs would have been better if they more like the Spike's Tactical soft case. As you can see, there's still room to move around.

Haha! found this while shooting these photos. Wish I never saw this.

Besides a few minor gripes, and the fact that it's made in China, overall I'm happy with this bag. It's perfect for what I intend to use it for. Whether or not it withstands hard use and abuse has yet to be seen (even though I have no intention of trying to destroy it). If you're looking for a quality weapons case to use for 2-3 gun matches, this certainly fits the bill. And at around 100bucks, you really can't beat the price tag. Hope anyone in the market for a case such as this, finds this review helpful. Happy Shooting!
