My thoughts, as well as the thoughts of the other LE involved in this so far have continued to be highly positive. The belt does not slide or move around, which is a huge plus.

One of the most common injuries for LEO is the lower back. There are other belt systems on the market that are padded, but they are all requiring the use of an underbelt. This is traditional and every real cop knows we wear two belts. The issue with this is that the under belt tends to dig into the L3/L4/L5 area of the back, which is often where the disk is damaged. While padding helps, there is still the pressure against the lower back, though the padded options certainly help.

If the HSGI is able to function properly without the use of the under belt, it will be a monumental step forward for LEO. The molle system is a draw back for some issued equipment that is retained on the belt, but we are working with other options right now to show a functional full duty load out.

Expect that this evaluation will take at least another month. The gear needs to all be functional as its being used for daily patrol on the streets of a high crime city. Once we get everything setup, and have 100+ hours of duty use with it, we'll report back with what we find out.

Stick is right, this belt system looks promising if we can make it for the LEO community. If you're at the SHOT, I'll see you there and put a bug in your ear.

Hmm... an LEO Package - Black HSGI Belt, TACO Pistol Pouches, an oversize TACO for a radio, and maybe even other odd-sized pouches (for items like cuffs and ASPs) is something that might work. I have zero practical experience for this, but the one-size-fits-all might be a hit.

I might have to try one of these out. I'm eager to hear Stick's review.

Looks like I am gonna buy one of these sometime soon. My local tacticcal shops only carry a limited supply of stuff, and some of it is crap, but with my bad back I decided to try out a war belt and they had a Condor one in multicam for sale for cheap so I bought it to try it out and now I am hooked. I am gonna have to get me a good one now. HSGI has always been quality stuff in my opinion.

I think you will find substantial differences over the other types of belts out there.

A simple miscommunication on my part set this back a few weeks.

Topher- Is there a way to double the mag pouches? I'm thinking about Sig P220 or 1911 mags....

If your talking Pistol TACO's, then no. Not with the current design..
Once we get this surge of orders under control we are planning on more designs with the TACO series..
I don't think double decker pistol TACO's are even on the drawing board... Well till now..

Are we talking about tiered ones (one slightly higher than the other)?

I'm currently building a belt setup for carbine/pistol classes, but I'm not done with it yet. Here's what I have so far:

    HSGI Sure-Grip Belt
    Blackhawk Reinforced Inner Duty Belt
US Grunt Gear Gen4 Double Pistol Pouch
US Grunt Gear Gen1 Triple Rifle Pouch
    Surefire V70

    Needed:

    Kydex Holster
    EAG Dump Pouch
