Aimpoint Comp M3
I was going to get the Aimpoint Pro for $400.00 but by the time I got the money together no one had any left in stock. Being the impatient man that I am and did not want to wait the month or so it would be back on the dealers shelves I decided to get the Aimpoint Comp M3 with a AD 68 mount for $600.00. At first I had a little buyers remorse for not waiting and saving $200.00 but now I am satisfied that I made the better purchase. What do you guys think?

The M3 is a solid choice for sure and will serve you well. What attributes do you believe the M3 has over the PRO that makes it a better optic for you?

The battery life of the M3 won me over. 50,000 hours for the M3 vs. 30,000 hours for the pro. I will probably be dead before the battery needs changed anyway lol. Plus I read that the pro is just a updated M2 with a funky mount. The M3 uses updated technology and I can use the mount of my choice. In my case I used a AD68-H.

An interesting tidbit is that Aimpoint changed the battery rating on their web page to 50,000 hrs a bit ago, but now I don't see the PRO listed at all. The PRO also uses the most recent ACET technology that the M3 does.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if the pro is rated for 50,000 hours, that essentially makes it the same sight as the M3 except for the mount. Am I correct?

It looks that way to me.
