Direct mounting a magpul vertical grip to a Troy TRX extreme

So I just finished assembling a 300BLK 9" Gun. I started with a hand stop, but I didnt like the way it felt.

I decided to put a 1.75" Radius cut at the top of a Magpul Vertical Grip and Direct Mount it.

It came out well and saves some weight plus rail sections, etc.

Just get someone with a mill to set their cutter to 1.75" Clamp in the grip and in 5 minutes you have it done.

As it thins the plastic slightly I Put in about .25" of epoxy to give it some rigidity. Redrilled the hole and mounted using the Magpul screw and backer.

Turned out well. I plan on cutting it shorter, but I like the radiused profile much better than the hand stop.

You can probably use this technique on just about any polymer grip.

    And a close up.

Looks good, I've been trying to think of a way to do this. I'm sure its a PIA but do you have a photo of the top of the RVG (not mounted) that depicts the changes you made?

I was wondering when someone would do this. I'm hopeful that Mount-N-Slot will come up with a factory solution.

It's like a 5 minute job with a mill and boring bar. It does need epoxy for strength though. I like the solution better than a hand stop, but I will probably cut the grip to half it's current length.

    Great job on the VFG.

Which hand stop are you using?

Mount-n-slot. Works great. It's too expensive for what it is though.
